Grandma didn’t have funeral expenses covered
{*names were changed for customers’ protection}
Joann called us, worried about funeral expense for her grandmother. At age 73, Gramma was in fairly poor health, with asthma, high blood pressure, arthritis and who suffered a stroke a bit over three years ago. The first company she tried, told her that due to the stroke combined with the current blood pressure, she will not qualify to get coverage.
Since I work with multiple companies, I know that one carrier does not look at any history longer than 3 years ago, and they accept any blood pressure meds. The quote for $35/mo. provided enough coverage for future funeral costs and other final expenses. Joann decided she wanted to pay the premiums for her grandmother’s policy and wanted the policy to be mailed to herself for safekeeping.
If you were declined coverage in the past, you probably spoke to only one company, and possibly with an agent that was captive with only one company. As an independent agent, I have access to ALL insurance companies, being able to compare their requirements, prices and also their customer satisfaction and financial ratings. If you need a second opinion, please let me know and I’ll find the right coverage for you.
